Linking Techniques

There are many ways to build in-links, out-links and internal links, in order for your website to rank for your chosen keywords, you need to have a reasonable amount of these and linking techniques; good ones, will make all the difference.

The reason you need links is for you to gain authority with search engines, if other websites bother to link to you then they must think you have great content and information worth linking too.

Getting these in-links is not as easy as you might think and not everyone has content worth linking to, so the best way to start is for you to get links yourself from local directories and small local search engines, then start working on the more difficult linking techniques, don't go hell for leather acquiring links though, search engines prefer if you get them slowly, at the very least aim for 10 per week.

Best to start by getting links from local trade directories first, then google maps from google tools is always a good idea, next I might get some in links from couple of dozen web directories, there is a quick list of them at the bottom of this page.

If you are good at writing articles this has to be one of the best SEO techniques for creating in links, best way to do this is: write a 500 word article that is relevant to a product or service that you market on your website.

Place that article on your website, then write the same article about 250-300 words in a condensed form scattering keywords that relate to your website throughout. hyper link those keywords to the pages that relate to the keywords on your website, at the bottom of the condensed version: have a statement saying for more information on this topic visit www.yoursite.com

Don't forget to write a good bio for yourself...Now submit this condensed article to every article directory that will accept it.

Here is a quick list of good Website directories, always make these one way links if you can., if they require a reciprocal link, then just do it! Reciprocal links are better than no link~!

This is just a part of good practice linking techniques, just watch out for link farms, where it is obvious people are selling links, google may penilize some website if they abuse this.
